The All-New Jeep Compass Arriving Soon in UK ShowroomsLast Updated: 18th Aug 2017
Jeep are gearing up to release the all-new Compass into UK showrooms later this year. This new SUV is being viewed is a further step into the mainstream for the American brand, following the Renegade as another model line-up to target family car buyers.
Jeep has been creating remarkable cars for decades, each building on the successes of the past. One of the most popular has been the Jeep Compass, a compact crossover SUV with some real attitude. Originally introduced to the United States a few years ago, the company is now bringing the model back to the UK with a number of distinctive upgrades.
It will sit between the Renegade and Cherokee in the Jeep range and it clearly shares many similarities with existing Jeep models. The Compass shares a platform with the Renegade, and the interior design is strongly inspired by the current Grand Cherokee model. Once released the Jeep Compass is expected to be available in four trim levels: Sports, Limited, Latitude and Trailhawk.
All trim levels will feature an impressive standard specification. Although the final UK specification has not been finalised it is expected that the car will have features that include adaptive cruise control, full-colour touchscreen, daytime running lights, Uconnect (including Apple Car Play and Andriod Auto), electronic parking brake, keyless entry, park assist (including reversing camera), steering wheel mounted audio controls and bluetooth.
Historically Jeep has been at the forefront of the offroading segment and the new Compass has been designed for all journeys whatever the terrain may be. The 17-inch off road tyres and hill descent control feature will give the driver complete authority over the landscape as they head out on their offroading adventure. Jeep also claims that the SUV can venture through any ford or stream that’s up to 19-inches deep with ease.
When reviewing the new Compass, Sam Naylor from Auto Express said, “the Compass has the potential to find many happy buyers, on account of its handsome looks, practical interior and the off-road kudos of the Jeep badge.”
Of course, a Jeep wouldn’t be a Jeep without a bit of power, and the Compass seems to deliver. The car is run on a six or nine-speed automatic transmission that is mated to either a 1.6-litre or 2.0-litre engine. Alternatively there is a six-speed manual transmission available.
There’s been no official launch date so far although it is expected to arrive in late 2017 at Pentagon Jeep showrooms in Barnsley, Doncaster, Lincoln and Sheffield. As the expected release date gets ever closer the best place to find all the latest information about the new model is with the sales team at your local Pentagon Jeep dealership. They can be contacted by visiting the dealership, calling 0333 222 0424 (local rate) or by speaking with one of the team online.
